Sims Recipient of the 2025 Harbor Freight Youth Skills Trade Summit Fellow of the Year Award

Presley Sims is the 2025 Harbor Freight Youth Skills Trade Summit Fellow of the Year!!

While taking welding courses at Advantage Academy in 2023-2024, Sims completed 60 internship hours with SteelFab, Inc. This company specializes in the production of steel components for various industries.

The Harbor Freight Fellows Initiative (HFFI) is a partnership between Big Picture Learning and the Harbor Freight Tools for Schools program to elevate the respect and resources accorded to youth (and their teachers).They support youth for whom the trades are the appropriate and chosen post secondary path to a fulfilling life as a professional and community member. HFFI compensates apprenticing experiences with professional tradesperson mentors. Fellows work alongside mentors in real work situations to deepen their interest, develop hands-on practical skills, and broaden the professional network that will support them as they move through their professional lives. 

Sims's welding instructor, Kaitlyn Donahue said, "It is so rewarding to see these students doing exceptional things!"
