Culinary Students Visit McCall Farms

Mr. Harwell's culinary class at Advantage Academy visited McCall Farms on September 13th. They were able to tour the facilities and get a bird's eye view of the canning process. The great thing about McCall Farm's is that it's just 10 minutes outside of the Florence city limits!

McCall Farms was established in 1954 with a 2,000 acre farm in Effingham, SC. The primary crop grown was cotton. Since that time, McCall Farms has built a flourishing canning and freezing operation, acquiring a number of national brands including Margaret Holmes, Peanut Patch Boiled Peanuts, Glory Foods, Bruce’s Yams, Princella, Allens, and Popeye. McCall Farms today employs over 1,000 people in its 1.1 million square foot manufacturing facility.
