We are proud to recognize Rashad Washington, a standout welding student at Advantage Academy, for being selected as a recipient of the 2026 SME Education Foundation Scholarship!

Chosen from more than 2,000 applicants nationwide, Rashad earned this honor through his technical skill, academic dedication, and commitment to the future of manufacturing and engineering. As a member of the National Technical Honor Society, he continues to demonstrate the precision, leadership, and work ethic that define tomorrow’s industry professionals.

Rashad plans to continue his training and pursue a career in welding and engineering, building a strong future for himself and his family.

According to the SME Education Foundation, its scholarship program has awarded more than $20 million to over 6,000 future industry leaders since 2005.
