About Us
Advantage Academy is a proud charter of The National Technical Honor Society.
The mission of the National Technical Honor Society is to honor student achievement and leadership, promote educational excellence, and enhance career opportunities for the NTHS membership.
Advantage Academy became a recognized National Technical Honor Society chapter in April 24, 1989. It is among 3,700 charter schools and colleges with more than 50,000 students enrolled in vocational and technical education each year.
To be inducted into The National Technical Honor Society, students are required to meet strict criteria and membership is by invitation only. Students must:
- Have a current GPA of 3.0
- Good attendance record.
- Complete a minimum of 1 out of 4 class terms in a career and technical field.
- Submit one teacher recommendation using the NTHS Teacher recommendation form.
- Demonstrate critical workplace values, honesty, technical skills, teamwork, loyalty, initiative, leadership and commitment to personal and professional excellence.
Once inducted, members are required to maintain the above criteria in addition to:
Participate in National Technical Honor Society events. (Events are set by your school such as community service, fundraising, or service learning projects.)
*Members can be dropped from the National Technical Honor Society if a GPA of 3.0 or higher is not maintained.

NTHS Goal
Goal:
“The goal of the society is to see that deserving technical students be recognized and that people of the community become aware of the talents and abilities of the young people and adults who choose technical education pathways to a successful future.”
Purpose:
The purpose of this organization shall be:
- To promote the ideals of honesty, service, leadership, and skill development among America’s future workforce;
- To assist Society Members in their pursuit of career and educational goals;
- To encourage the practice of high standards of personal and professional conduct and individual responsibility among the membership;
- To advance the growth and ideals of the Society throughout the United States of America

Future Business Leaders of America - Business, Management, and Administration
Future Business Leaders of America, Inc. (FBLA) is the largest business Career and Technical Student Organization in the world. Each year, FBLA helps over 230,000 members prepare for careers in business. FBLA inspires and prepares students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences.
The West Florence and Wilson chapters actively participate in district and state competitions. Contact advisors in the fall for further details and requirements to become a member.
